The Avenue Down
The artist states: "When the perception of blue and green is mixed by the brain it is an attempt for me, the artist/viewer to get to the shore and get closer to my objective. The objective is to be on solid ground after experiencing the effect of water for a time. The disturbed reality of movement on water creates an abstracted idea which I have been dealing in elemental terms. A landscape for me is only a word to disseminate my thoughts into an unlimited quality and quantity within a painting. It is only about 3 square feet of water, but to me I see endless possibilities."
Alexander’s canvases exhibit high colour contrasts using a combination of dry and wet brushwork. Canvases display the artist’s gestural painting style, and have a matte finish. Paintings are ready to hang framed or unframed.
