The original inspiration for the Nautical work was the British painter Alfred Wallace . He had a similar thing in his work that I immediately identified with , he seemed to understand perspective in his own unique way , it is of course incorrect and has some accidental humour and is whimsical.
At the same time the boats can’t help but reference the discovery of the colonies and have a ominous quality.
