Introduced to the medium during the 1970s, while a student at the Ontario College of Art (OCA) and under the tutelage of Frederick Hagan (former Head of Printmaking), Ted Fullerton has remained steadfast in his exploration of this creative and expressive process.
The artist states: "I could go into length about the experience of drawing on stone, its unique visual aesthetic – and the process in realizing the limited edition – but let me say it is ‘extraordinary’ for me. The materials and processes’ ‘seductive nature’ naturally invites my attraction to the symbolic image making that is sourced and coalesced from a place of merging associations."
Since those formative years, stone lithography has been one of Fullerton’s greatest passions over the subsequent 45 years of his creative practice.
