The Making of Sheri Bakes' Sunset Garden

In this video, Bakes shares the personal and thoughtful approach behind the creation of her new body of work titled Sunset Garden where she discusses her deep connection with the land around her. This show is dedicated to the artist’s mother Frieda Bakes, who passed away earlier this year. These windswept, light and hope-filled landscape paintings, with their pronounced ebb and flow, are equal parts evocation, elegy, and an invocation to joy.
