Mentor and Me | Ted Fullerton and Frederick Hagan Exhibition at MacLaren Art Centre

Mentor and Me’ - a monumental exhibition organized by the MacLaren Art Centre - brings together the lithographic works of two Bau-Xi Gallery artists, Ted Fullerton and Frederick Hagan, to illustrate the relationship of lasting respect and influence between these two artists. Their works are visually interwoven and embedded within an extensive network of influence that highlights the breadth of their inspiration, and the lasting impact of their teaching within Canadian printmaking.

Ted Fullerton is a Canadian artist who works in painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture and has achieved awards in all four media. He has been awarded a number of public sculpture commissions across Ontario and has participated in over 65 solo exhibitions and 110 group exhibitions.

Frederick Hagan (1918-2003) was a lithographer, painter, watercolourist, draftsman, and art educator who inspired many generations of Canadian artists. In 1967, Hagan was awarded the Canadian Centennial Medial and in 1988 the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts Medal. His work is held in many public collections, including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the National Gallery of Canada, and the Royal Ontario Museum.

Mentor and Me is on view from February 17 – May 21, 2023 at the MacLaren Art Centre: 37 Mulcaster Street Barrie, ON L4M 3M2
