Barbara Cole featured in Slumber Party
Currently on view at the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa is Slumber Party, a group exhibition which leans "into whimsy, fantasy, and camp" and "revels in the subversive power of girlhood aesthetics, often dismissed as trivial or unserious."
Featured in this collection is Cole's lenticular work "Miroir D'Eau, from Meditations," which utilizes a unqiue process to create an image that moves as it is viewed from different angles. Comprised of several separate photographs from the artist's series "Meditations", this piece seeks to convery the experience of "fleeting impressions of life reflected in water."
The exhibition is a collaboration between the SPAO and Giant Tiger, in celebration of International Women's Day, and will be on display until March 8th, 2026.
