When I Think of You
Location: Vancouver, Canada
"For a few short weeks each spring, familiar landscapes are completely transformed. Branches become clouds of pale colour, individual blossoms dissolve into fields of texture, and ordinary spaces become almost dreamlike. I was interested not simply in photographing the blossoms themselves, but in capturing the feeling of that transformation.
Blossoms, branches, colour and open space feel painterly. That abstraction has always interested me in photography, the point at which a recognizable place or subject can become something more emotional and atmospheric.
These photographs continue an exploration that has always been at the heart of my work: our relationship to place, memory and time, and the ability of an image to hold onto a moment that cannot last." - Joshua Jensen-Nagle
