"I often travel with a 14-foot tripod to create elevation where none exists, but for the Spanish Steps, I needed an even higher vantage point. With special permission from Prada’s head office, I was granted access to their Via Condotti balcony, though a delay in communication with the store meant I initially left Rome without the shot. We were already in Tropea when the call came, so we rushed back, only to spend 10 hours waiting for a train due to unseasonal flooding.
