"I am an abstract painter. The process is my catalyst. I engage with the pulse of the process, with the "now “to establish a balance in my world, in order to clear a path that transcends the noise. My creative practice offers me a way to muffle the deafening drone of the algorithmic digital cacophony constantly curating my experience.

Through a filter of memory, place, emotion and existential angst, I approach the canvas with a sustained faith that I will be able to find something from nothing. It is a state of alertness towards what lays before me, what is present, and what could be.

For my final thesis at OCADU I set out some repetitive structural parameters in order to gain insight into what my process instinctively generates when faced with particular compositional restrictions and challenges. In a series of four 48” x 48” paintings on canvas, linen and wood panel, I began to discover what kind of effect this combination of elements; the square shape, the various substrates, the repetition, and a process of continuous output, could generate as far as a visual vocabulary was concerned. The marks are intuitive, introspective, and emotional, a time space continuum translated into colour, shape, line, and gesture, in a ceremony of invention."
