Jeffrey Milstein's Aerial Photography of Paris featured on WTHR 13NEWS
"Award-winning photographer, Jeffrey Milstein, 80, got the rare opportunity to board a helicopter and soar above the Olympic host city for some stunning photography."
Jeffrey Milstein's celebrated Paris series was recently featured on WTHR 13NEWS, presenting a behind-the-scenes look at how the photographer captured a unique perspective of the iconic city.
Milstein obtained rare permission to photogrph Paris from a helicopter. Usually flights are restricted to the outskirts of the city where it is not possile to achieve straight-down shots. This series is a continuation of Milstein's aerial photography over cities which the artist began in 2010.
The photographs are taken from a helicopter with the door off and Milstein in a harness that allows him to lean out of the helicopter to achieve the striaght-down shots. From 1000 ft. above the artist can see hidden views, shapes, patterns and geometry not available from the ground.
