Entr'Acte
"Entr'Acte" borrows from a term from theater arts meaning "a pause between two parts". Tait makes reference to this notion of change, or "intermission" in this painting by highlighting two distinct approaches that show a contrast between rather solemn tonal colour fields and blocks of animated symbols with a warmer palette.
Tait's abstract works on canvas and paper incorporate colour fields with blocks of saturated, multi-layered texture and fragmented forms.
