Toronto-based artist Emerald Repard-Denniston creates humorous environments that welcome the viewer into her escapist, coming-of-age recollection. Ruminating on gender biases, identity crises, imposter syndromes, and social statuses, the figures on her canvases become a cynical and satirical mockery. Repard-Denniston questions perception throughout her compositions, challenging the social political environments she is surrounded by.
